The Wednesday Full Moon paddle with Group for the East End is full, but here are some other great trips that are coming up:
Intro to Surfing & Beach Ecology
Wednesday & Thursday
August 21-22 10 am – 3 pm
Ages 10-15
This course merges two fun topics that one can spend a lifetime mastering: catching waves and beach ecology. We’ll be covering water safety, swimming and paddling in the surf zone, reading waves and rip currents, surfing, the physical processes at work on the beach, beach and dune flora and fauna and their respective adaptations.
Location: Napeague
Fee: $100 per day.
Can’t make the age limit? Contact us if you are interested in an adult version of this course, and we can arrange one for September.
Instructors: Mike Bottini and Juliana Duryea. Both of us are professional wildlife biologists, and are CPR, First Responder and ocean certified lifeguards with over 20 years of combined ocean lifeguard experience. Mike is also a a certified water safety instructor (WSI), and worked as an Outbound Bound instructor for many years. Juliana is a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School.
Georgica Pond Paddle

This nature paddle will take you along the salt meadows of Accabonac Harbor to observe some of the striking but easily overlooked wildflowers that are in bloom. Single kayaks ($40), tandem kayaks and canoes ($60) and stand up paddleboards ($50) are available to rent (and include lifejackets). Or bring your own.
